On March 19 and 20, Howard County Police Academy Class 39 will participate in a community service and fundraising event to benefit Grassroots, Howard County’s 24-hour crisis intervention center and shelter for the homeless.
The event, Sleep Out To End Homelessness, will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, at Glen Mar United Methodist Church and conclude at 7 a.m. on Friday, March 20 in the church parking lot where the recruits will spend the night in recognition of the people in our community living without a roof over their heads.
Sleep Out To End Homelessness donors are encouraged to contribute a monetary donation for each of the 14 hours a recruit spends outside. Grassroots is a 501.c3 organization and donations are tax deductible.
