Grassroots Distributes Rental Assistance

In an effort to stem pending evictions and homelessness, Grassroots has received funding from the county to provide rental assistant to residents who  are past due on their rent or utility bills related to financial hardship due COVID.

“Rental assistance is a safety net that prevents more families affected by the pandemic from falling into homelessness caused by unemployment or illness,” explained Grassroots Executive Director Dr. Mariana Izraelson.  “With Emergency Rental Assistance funds, Grassroots is able to intervene and help families avoid eviction and stem the escalating crises that occur in already distressed families.  We are grateful to Howard County Government for its leadership in providing this financial support to families in need.”
