The long-awaited Empty Bowls fundraiser for Grassroots hosted by Glenwood Middle School was held recently as part of the school’s Enrichment Fair. The event featured handcrafted bowls made by 6th graders and a silent auction of beautiful bowls created by the school staff earlier in the year. In addition, attendees enjoyed various types of chili made by faculty and students in the school’s FACS department. Breads, desserts and other refreshments were also available. The event is a continuation of the 6th grade Student Service Learning program and was organized by the 6th grade team and related arts staff. All of the proceeds were donated to Grassroots.
